November is here, and we have plenty to celebrate at Luckydog! This month, we're introducing our Dog of the Month, Arlo, celebrating Joci and Jill's LD anniversaries, and announcing the winners of our Halloween Costume Contest. Plus, with the holidays approaching, we have a few important reminders and a favorite Thanksgiving tradition to share!

‍

Dog of the Month: Arlo N.

Meet Arlo N., our November Dog of the Month! This 8-year-old Husky-Shepherd mix is the man, the myth, the legend. Arlo is truly one of a kind, with a big personality, plenty of opinions, and a social calendar that could rival anyone's!

Whether he's leading the choir with his favorite singing partners, Dodger P. and Zoe S., roughhousing with his Rottie girlfriends, Georgia H. and Roxann S., or splashing around in the pool with River K., Arlo has a way of making friends wherever he goes. In fact, he has so many friendships across Luckydog that we couldn't possibly name them all!

Outside Luckydog, Arlo has another important responsibility. Known affectionately as "The Pepper Prince," he takes his role overseeing his parents' pepper garden very seriously. Between his musical talents, busy social life, and gardening duties, Arlo is a dog of many talents!

We're so lucky to have this wonderfully unique, larger-than-life boy as part of our Luckydog family. Congratulations on being our November Dog of the Month, Arlo!

Celebrating 10 Years with Joci!

Ten years! It’s hard to believe an entire decade has passed since I first walked through the doors at Luckydog. So much has changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant: my love for the dogs, the people, and the work we do every day.

One of the most special parts of being here for ten years is the history I share with so many of our dogs and their families. I've watched puppies grow into seniors, welcomed new siblings into families, and built relationships with pet parents that have lasted nearly as long as I've been here. It’s those connections, and the trust that comes with them, that make this place so meaningful to me.

Over the years, I've also learned just how much goes into providing thoughtful, individualized care. No two dogs are alike, and even after a decade, there is always something new to learn. I'm proud to work alongside a team that shares that mindset and continually looks for ways to make each dog's experience better.

Reaching ten years is something I'm incredibly proud of, and I feel so fortunate to have spent them doing work that I genuinely love. To all the pet parents, pups, and team members who have been part of these ten years, thank you for making Luckydog such a special part of my life!

Love, Jocelyn

Jill: Celebrating 4 Years at Luckydog!

This October marked four years since I joined the Luckydog team! When I first started as a part-time student employee, I knew I wanted to spend my days working with dogs. Four years later, that hasn't changed, but I've found so much more to love about what I do.

Some of the most rewarding parts of my job have been the opportunities to connect with our pet parents and bring our community together. Whether it's putting together our monthly newsletters, planning special events, or simply getting to know the dogs and their families, I love being part of what makes Luckydog such a special place.

This year has been especially exciting with my involvement in InstinctIQ, a professional training platform for dog daycare and lodging teams, guided by positive reinforcement and force-free principles. I’ve devoted much of my time to helping build InstinctIQ, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of something that shares the same commitment to thoughtful, individualized care that I value so much at Luckydog.

Looking back, I came to Luckydog for the love of dogs, but I've stayed for so much more. The relationships I've built with our pet parents, their pups, and our wonderful team have made these four years incredibly meaningful. Thank you all for being part of that, and for giving me so many reasons to love coming to work each day!

Thanksgiving Dinner for Our Lodging Guests

Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner is back! Each year, Dee prepares a special, home-cooked meal for our pups staying with us on Thanksgiving night, and it's a tradition our team looks forward to just as much as the dogs do!

Dinner features a delicious mix of dog-friendly ingredients, including turkey, pumpkin, carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes. We offer two portion sizes for dogs 30 lbs and under or over 30 lbs, so everyone can enjoy a holiday meal suited to their size.

Want a peek at the festivities? Watch last year's Thanksgiving Dinner Reel here!

Christmas Lodging Reminder

Christmas is right around the corner, and our holiday lodging reservations are filling up! Availability is already limited for some suite types, so we encourage our current Luckydog families to book their stays early to secure their pup’s preferred accommodations.

If you're planning a holiday getaway, be sure to get your reservation on the calendar soon!

With the holidays approaching, we wanted to share a quick reminder of our holiday hours to help you plan your pup's visits!

Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25):

Closed for daycare, grooming, and lodging drop-offs and pick-ups.

Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), New Year's Eve (Dec. 31), and New Year's Day (Jan. 1):

Our team will still be here caring for our overnight guests on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but our lobby will be closed to allow us to focus on the dogs staying with us.
