The Pool is Open—Let’s Make a Splash!
Swim season is officially here! Our above-ground pool is open for private, one-on-one swim sessions—perfect for dogs who love to splash, build confidence in the water, or enjoy some extra exercise. These sessions are a great add-on to daycare or lodging visits, making your pup’s day feel even more special.

Meet Murphy: Ready for His Forever Home!
Murphy is a 10-month-old German Shepherd mix with a playful spirit, a loving heart, and a lot to offer the right home! He’s a regular at Luckydog, where he’s won over our team and made lots of canine friends.
A little about Murphy:
- 61 lbs of playful energy and affection
- Knows basic commands and thrives with positive guidance
- Loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a similarly active doggy playmate
- Cuddle enthusiast after a day full of fun and adventure
- Murphy needs: An active home that enjoys outdoor activities, has time for play and training, and is without cats or small animals.
A few notes: Murphy is on a specialized hydrolyzed diet to help keep his GI system healthy and is happiest with plenty of durable toys to chew on.
If you or someone you know is looking for an energetic, affectionate companion, Murphy could be the perfect match!

Brushing Basics: Keep Your Dog’s Coat Healthy
Regular brushing helps prevent mats, reduce shedding, and keep your dog’s coat healthy—but using the right brush is key!
🔹 Best Brush for Your Dog:
- Short coats (e.g., Chihuahuas, Labs): Rubber curry or soft bristle brush
- Double coats (e.g., Huskies, Golden Retrievers): Undercoat rake + slicker brush
- Curly/wavy coats (e.g., Poodles, Doodles): Slicker brush + metal comb
- Wire-haired breeds (e.g., Terriers): Bristle brush or stripping tool
🔹 How Often?
- Daily: Curly, long-haired, or heavy-shedding breeds
- A few times per week: Double-coated breeds
- Weekly: Short-haired dogs
🔹 Common Tangle-Prone Areas to Check:
- Behind ears, under the collar
- Armpits, belly, tail
- Feet and legs
Would you rather leave it to us? Our professional grooming team offers brush-out services—available as a one-time or routine add-on to daycare and lodging. Let us help keep your pup’s coat in top shape!

Dogs of the Month: Otis & Moose B.!
Otis (6) and Moose (2) have been part of the Luckydog family since puppyhood, and we’ve loved watching them grow into the fun-loving, goofy boys they are today! These two have done it all—enrichment, swim sessions, Private Park Adventures, and even limo rides. They’re also spa regulars, keeping their coats looking as handsome as ever!
When they’re not busy exploring or getting pampered, you’ll find them playing with their best buddies Osa Z., Molly P., and Piper S.. Whether they’re here for daycare, or a VIP overnight stay, Otis and Moose always bring energy, smiles, and plenty of laughs. We’re so lucky to have them as part of our pack!
