February at Luckydog: This Month’s Highlights

February 1, 2026

February brings a mix of everyday routines and a few moments worth highlighting. This month, we’re sharing our Dog of the Month, a staff-led fundraiser supporting animal welfare, and a couple of simple ways to add enrichment and seasonal fun into your dog’s time with us. As always, our focus remains on thoughtful care, engagement, and the dogs who make up our community. We’re glad to have you along for another month at Luckydog!

Dog of the Month: Watson M.

Watson has been part of the Luckydog community since 2017, and this 9-year-old hound mix continues to win over dogs and staff alike. He especially shines during enrichment sessions, where tunnels and scent-based activities give him the perfect outlet to put his nose to work. Thoughtful, engaged, and quietly enthusiastic, Watson is a great example of how enrichment can support confidence and joy at any stage of life.

In daycare, he’s known for his affectionate nature, signature kisses, and unforgettable raspberry-blowing photos. Some of his favorite friends include Angel K., Archer T., and Toby G., and the feeling is clearly mutual. We’re so glad to celebrate Watson and the many years he’s spent as a valued part of our community!

Retail Highlight: The Pupsicle

The Pupsicle is a staff favorite and a go-to enrichment tool for keeping dogs thoughtfully engaged at home. Each premade Pupsicle pop can offer up to 45 minutes of lick time, supporting calm focus and sustained mental engagement. For those who enjoy a little DIY, silicone molds are also available, making it easy and efficient to create custom fillings tailored to your dog’s preferences.

We carry the Pupsicle in a variety of sizes, colors, and durability levels, allowing pet parents to choose the best fit for their dog. It’s a simple, effective option for adding enrichment into daily routines with easy set-up and clean-up. If you’re curious to see them up close or have questions about fit or use, feel free to stop by our retail space and take a look!

Supporting Stacey’s Chicago Marathon Fundraiser

Our Daycare Manager, Stacey, is taking on an exciting challenge this year by fundraising for PAWS Chicago, an organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats through adoption, education, and accessible veterinary care. If she reaches her fundraising goal, Stacey will earn a spot in the Chicago Marathon this October.

This opportunity allows her to combine a meaningful personal goal with a cause that closely aligns with our values. We’re incredibly proud of her commitment and grateful for any and all support from our community. Those interested in cheering Stacey on can learn more or contribute here!

National Love Your Dog Day – February 20

February 20 is National Love Your Pet Day, a great reminder that showing care often comes down to meeting a dog’s individual needs. For many dogs, enrichment plays an important role in supporting confidence, curiosity, and emotional balance by giving them opportunities to think, explore, and make choices. Whether that looks like scent work, problem-solving activities, or quiet one-on-one time, thoughtful engagement can help strengthen the human–dog bond. We’re grateful to support dogs in ways that encourage both joy and mental well-being, not just on this day, but year-round.
