November 1, 2025

Welcome to November at Luckydog! As we head into the season of gratitude and giving, we have so much to share! From celebrating some amazing dogs to getting ready for the holidays and giving back to our community, this edition is jam-packed with updates you won’t want to miss!

In this issue, you’ll find everything from important lodging reminders and holiday hours to our Thanksgiving dinner tradition, community food drive, and exciting behind-the-scenes projects. Thank you for being part of the Luckydog family. We’re so grateful for your continued trust and support this season and all year long.

Dog of the Month: River K.

River is a four-year-old Pyrenees mix who’s been part of the Luckydog family since 2022. She’s equal parts sweet and spunky, always ready for a cuddle with her favorite people or a play session with her best friends. Her inner social butterfly shines brightest when she’s with her pals Kili S. and Lizzy H., but her closest friend of all is Hershey A. the dachshund. The two met at Luckydog when they were both new to the family, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Whether it’s adventuring in the rain or hosting an impromptu ice storm slumber party, River is always the life of the party. Her favorite way to spend the day is on an Off-Leash Adventure, where she can let loose and run to her heart’s content.

The Holidays Are Coming: Reserve Your Dog’s Stay Today!

’Tis the season for cozy nights and festive travel plans! Our lodging calendar is almost full for Thanksgiving, but we still have space available around Christmas and New Year’s.

If your plans include time away from home, now’s the perfect moment to schedule your dog’s holiday stay. From extra snuggles to playtime with friends, we’ll make sure their time at Luckydog feels like a vacation of their own.

Reserve your spot through Goose, or email us at bark@luckydogcare.com, our team is happy to help!

Add a Thanksgiving Feast to Your Dog’s Stay!

Is your dog lodging with us on Thanksgiving night? Treat them to our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, a Luckydog tradition loved by staff and dogs alike!

This festive, homecooked meal is crafted just for our lodging guests and features dog-friendly favorites like turkey, carrots, pumpkin, green beans, and sweet potatoes. We offer two portion sizes: one for dogs 30 lbs and under, and another for dogs over 30 lbs.

Want to see how much the dogs love it? Check out last year’s Thanksgiving Dinner Reel here!

Add this special dinner to your dog’s Thanksgiving stay by emailing bark@luckydogcare.com.

Holiday Hours Reminder

The holiday season is almost here, and we want to help make your plans go smoothly!

Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25):

Closed for daycare, grooming, and lodging drop-offs and pick-ups.

Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1):

Open for regular hours and services.

We’ll be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas so our team can celebrate the holidays with their families, and so we can focus on caring for the dogs spending the holidays with us.

Please double-check your reservation drop-off and pick-up times ahead of the holidays, and thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly this busy season!

Congratulations to Shaina: Now a Certified Therapy Dog!

We’re thrilled to share that Shaina, July’s Dog of the Month, has officially earned her therapy dog certification through Pet Partners! She passed with flying colors and is ready to share her gentle spirit and compassion with others.

As a certified therapy dog, Shaina will be supporting humans by helping to reduce stress and anxiety, offering comfort and affection, and promoting positive social interaction. She’ll be providing this important work in medical offices, assisted living facilities, schools, and even the airport.

We’re so proud of Shaina and her family for this incredible achievement!

Something Exciting Is in the Works!

Big things are happening behind the scenes at Luckydog! Dee, Stacey, and Jill recently attended our first film shoot for Luckydog’s very own Employee Education Content.

We’re deeply committed to providing in-depth, ongoing education for our team — covering topics like dog behavior, care, and safety. With Stacey’s expertise as a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, Dee’s leadership and perspective, and contributions from multiple veterinary consultants and a board-certified veterinary behaviorist, this project will highlight science-based, positive training and care methods.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue developing this exciting new chapter in Luckydog education!
