InstinctIQ Launches Nationwide!

Many of you have been with us long enough to know that we never stop asking how we can do better for dogs. Over the last two and a half years, that same drive led me to build something I'm incredibly proud to share with you: InstinctIQ, a professional education platform designed to help elevate standards across the dog care industry.

What started as a simple idea grew into a collaboration with an amazing team of professionals. Many of you know Stacey, who has been a cornerstone of Luckydog since 2018. Her years of hands-on experience as a certified professional trainer helped shape much of the behavioral education within the program. We also partnered with veterinary professionals to develop medical and emergency preparedness training specifically for daycare and boarding teams. And many of you know Jill, who played a critical role in transforming this wealth of information into a clear, engaging learning experience for dog care professionals.

I want you to know that building InstinctIQ has never taken my focus away from Luckydog. In many ways, it has strengthened it. The process challenged us to evaluate, document, and refine every aspect of what we do, helping us become an even better resource for the dogs and families we serve.

We recently introduced InstinctIQ at our first national industry trade show in Phoenix, and the response was beyond anything I could have imagined. While I'm excited about what lies ahead, what excites me most is the opportunity to positively impact the lives of dogs far beyond our own community.

At the end of the day, it's always been about the dogs.

Dog of the Month: Mr. Baxter D.‍

Mr. B is a Pomchi who has been a part of the Luckydog family since 2022. He may be small, but he is full of personality! From his trademark tongue-out look to his impressive collection of fashionable sweaters, he's always finding ways to make us smile. One of his favorite pastimes is rolling onto his back to scratch the sweet spot. When he's not busy soaking up attention, you'll often find him perched atop the play structure, keeping a watchful eye on his buddies below and waiting for the next cuddle opportunity. His sweet nature and undeniable charm have earned him plenty of admirers, both canine and human. His best doggie pals are Beau A., Teddy B., and Izzy B. His larger-than-life personality and adorable antics make Mr. B a favorite around Luckydog, and we always look forward to seeing his smiling face.

Retail Highlight: The Woof Walkabout

Whether or not you're familiar with the viral Pupsicle by Woof, you'll want to take a look at the Walkabout! This clever enrichment toy combines a slow feeder and puzzle toy in one, encouraging dogs to move, think, and problem-solve while enjoying their meals or treats. Summer Safety Tip: Watch Those Paws!

Summer is here, and hot pavement can become a real hazard for dogs. Sidewalks, asphalt, and artificial turf often reach temperatures far higher than the surrounding air. Before heading out for a walk, place the back of your hand on the surface for a few seconds. As a general rule of thumb, if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws. You can also help your dog stay comfortable by walking during the cooler morning or evening hours and bringing water along on longer outings.
